Publishing Ethics
The editorial board of The Human Being journal adheres to ethical standards adopted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all participants in the process of preparing materials for publication.
EDITORS:
Impartiality
Editors evaluate received materials regardless of the authors’ gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religious or political beliefs.
Confidentiality
Information related to the received manuscript is available only to the authors, reviewers, and publishers.
Conflict of interest
The content of the received manuscript is subject to the author’s exclusive rights and not to be used for private purposes by anyone with access to the manuscript.
Manuscript Processing
- Manuscripts submitted to the journal are evaluated for compliance with the journal scope and technical requirements. In case of non-compliance, the article is rejected and the author is notified about the rejection.
- If the manuscript meets the formal requirements, it is tested on plagiarism and checked for originality. In case plagiarism is discovered or if the author has earlier published the text (its fragments) in any form, the manuscript is removed from consideration, and the author is notified about that.
- In case of successful completion of formal checks, the manuscript is forwarded for double blind peer review. Authors are notified on acceptance of their articles for review within two weeks after submission of the manuscript to the journal.
- Reviewing takes not more than a month after the reviewers accept the manuscript for assessment.
- The editorial board and the editor-in-chief are authorized to make a decision on publication of the manuscript following the reviewers’ recommendations.
REVIEWERS:
Reviewers’ Tasks
- Reviewing is aimed to assess a scholarship level of submitted manuscripts and to help the Editorial Board and the Editor-in-Chief in their decision on acceptance of the manuscripts for publication
- Reviewing is based on a form provided by the journal. Final recommendations for the editorial board and authors are clearly formulated and clearly argued.
- Reviewing takes no more than a month since a manuscript has been accepted by a reviewer.
- Upon receipt of a manuscript for reviewing a reviewer without delay evaluates it for compliance with her/his expertise and, if not, informs the journal on her/his refusal to review.
Impartiality
The reviewed manuscripts are evaluated for their scholarship level, consistency of discourse, and rigor of arguments. An assessment of the personality of authors is beyond reviewers’ competence.
Confidentiality
Reviewing is double blind. Peer-reviewed materials are the subject of exclusive copyright of the author and are not used by reviewers for any private purposes.
AUTHORS:
Integrity
The authors are responsible for the integrity of their research and the presentation of its results in the text submitted for publication.
Plagiarism
The authors do not commit plagiarism. All quotations, digital and factual information are provided with references by the author.
Respect to Copyrights
Authors use images, reproductions, graphics, diagrams, etc. with the consent of the rights owners.
Exclusivity
By sending their manuscript to the journal, authors guarantee that their submission is original, owned by them, no part of it has been previously published, no other agreement to publish it or part of it is outstanding and is offered to The Human Being for first publication. Reusing an article or its parts an author gives appropriate credit to The Human Being including the exact copyright notice .
Authorship
The list of authors of the submitted material includes only those who have really contributed to the study and the presentation of its results.
Mistake Notification
When errors are detected in a published work, the author notifies the editor-in-chief of the error and, if necessary, publishes an error notification in the journal.
