Abstract
The article deals with the social consequences of "genetization" of society resulting from the proliferation of biotechnologies and decoding of the human genome. First, the issues of freedom of choice, human rights, obligations and individual responsibility are considered. Second, the problems of genetic discrimination are in the focus of our interest. Thirdly, we talk about the formation of communities, new forms of group cohesion and social activism, based on genetic and biological identities.
