Abstract
The concepts of “universality” and “pan-humanity” that are peculiar to Dostoyevsky's creative work are considered. The writer perceive those concepts in the perspective of a broader concept that is the “underground man”. According to the writer it's that man that is the principal actor in Russian World. The term “undergroundness” as perceived by Dostoevsky is opposed to the broad philosophical idea of Culture and is associated wit barbarianism.
