Abstract
The emergence of the idea of the superman at the turn of XIX-XX centuries and its transformation in the art of this period (in the works of K. Malevich, P. Filonov, V. Chekrygin) and in the art of the late XX-XXI centuries are considered. At the end of the XIX century, as the technological revolution spread, people, perhaps for the first time, began to think seriously about overcoming boundaries of an ordinary Human being (an example is Nietzsche's idea of Over-man "Ubermensch”). The second half of the twentieth century saw the world's first walk in open space and development of information systems, it gave impetus to a new understanding of human capabilities. By the end of the 20 th century an ideology of transhumanism appeared, which recognizes the possibility of fundamental changes in the position of a man with the help of advanced technology in order to eliminate suffering, aging and death, as well as significant enhance the physical, mental and psychological abilities of a person. These ideas have the reflection in modern art practices - for example, in the "science-art” which emerged at the intersection of new technologies and art (artists - Orlan, Marina Abramovic) or pessimistic adherents of cyberpunk ideas.
