Abstract
Cultural and symbolic meaning and significance of wall-painting and domestic painting in Russian North is analyzed. The conclusion is substantiated that the art images created in folk art attach some extra symbolic meaning to everyday life and promote formation of the feeling of one's deep-rootedness into being.
